Valentine’s Day weekend 2021, we bundled up and drove to our local livestock shop to buy six baby chicks right before an arctic blast hit our neighborhood.
I loved reading this! We inherited the descendants of flock of chickens that long ago went feral when the property was abandoned. We have more roosters than anyone has ever had, ever (thirty), but a fox predated on our hens, and we only have 2 left, plus four little hens orphaned by the fox that we raised indoors until they were ready to stand the temperatures on their own. Four hens in the house, as you know, is a lot. This is week two of them living in the coop full time. It's good to have the house back to a chicken-free zone.

Thank you! What is it like having all of those roosters!?
Congratulations on graduating those birds to the coop. It is a relief.
