I am resharing this post from my now-defunct other blog. I kept that blog from 2011 to 2022 and in the last couple of years, I felt it was time to move away from it. Eventually, I took it down because, although I liked many posts, much of the writing reflected the hand-wringing and growing up in my twenties and I did not like just having it out there forever. Even after I stopped writing the blog, however, I regularly got comments on this particular post from people going through what we did with this pregnancy. I was happy that, amidst scary medical journal articles my experience could give some encouragement, so I wanted to move it here now that the other blog is gone.
